Hello, I am the owner of the combine theories salon located at my salon suites in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. I’ve been in the industry for approximately 15 years I absolutely love making people feel good about themselves and helping people to transform their beauty needs. I have been a National Educator for 14 years.
We asked Angelina a few Questions about herself, and her work and it was an amazing piece of conversation.

Q. What is the reason behind you working as a stylist?
I love sharing knowledge and giving people the power to grow in our industry. Our industry has now become a true profession and not just a job. Salon professionals have worked hard for many years to be accepted as a career and not just a trade. I am honoured to be part of the frowning Industry.
I love to help people feel good about themself. I love to educate others on the importance of hair care as well as mental health as it all ties in one. Hairdressing is more than just doing hair. I like to refer to myself as a teaching artist and on some days a Hairapist.
Q. What are the desires of the clients when they come for a hair makeover?
A lot of times a client doesn’t really know what they want or need. Sometimes they just need someone to talk to and share with them what works for them as far as haircuts and creating structure around this face shape. Applying certain make-up enhances their best
features. Choosing a colour for their hair enhances the skin tone. A consultation is so important in helping the client to make the right choice.
Q. What is the most demanded hair colour/style for the year 2022?
Well, that all depends on the client. Some clients want new changes some just want to reshape what they have. I would have to say 2022 has been the year of long simple hair. Blonds and Burnetts are always common requests in my area.
Q. What is your go-to hairstyle for daily chores?
Keeping it simple. A simple ponytail for many. Braids have been a huge success in 2022. Simple fun and organic.
Q. How do you think having a good hairstyle boosts confidence?
Beauty is so important to many. When you look in the mirror and you feel good it makes your day. There is so much pressure of keeping a beautiful self-image with celebrities and social media today. When you get great colour and you can do it yourself and feel like you just walked out of the salon is everything to a client. I feel it is important to always walk a client through how to style their new cut. Share with them the best products for this hair to maintain beautiful shine and healthy hair.
Q. What is the ratio of your clients based on age groups?
My clients are of all ages. Children to adults. I am a colour specialist so I would say the majority of my clientele are women between 25 and 60.
Q. What are your future aspirations for expanding your organisation?
I would like to continue educating new stylists not only behind the chair but in growing their businesses as well. I love coaching stylists and encouraging them that there are no limits in our industry. Maybe one day I will open an advanced learning education centre. We will have to see.
Q. What challenges do you face in your profession?
This is a great question! There can be many challenges in our industry, but one of the hardest is getting the clients to understand the amount of time, knowledge and money invested to become successful. Many still
think of our industry as a trade. Which it is, however, we have evolved into so much more. Do you know it costs about 25 thousand dollars and up to go to beauty school? And that is just the basics. You need to take many years of classes to become the best. And with our ever-changing technology, this has become a daily thing. Constantly learning new techniques and products. Our scissors are not cheap. They can range up to 4000.oo some even more.
Products and keeping up with the newest technology are so important. I feel it is important to educate your client in all these aspects.
Q. What message would you like to give to the readers about having a good hairstyle?
Do your research on your stylist. Don’t feel bad about interviewing them. I mean you are hiring them for a “job”. Gone are the days of 10.00 haircuts. Stylists mean business today. They are educated and take great pride in what they do. Don’t be shocked at how expensive a good haircut or colour is today.
Q. Have you ever worked for someone suffering from health issues, how were there demands on having a good hairstyle?
All the time. I find it very important to know your chemicals, your diseases, and medications, and understand how your health plays a huge role in your hair. How colour can affect your hair. How products can affect your hair. There are so many issues that affect hair. A stylist must do their research and learn as much as they can.
Q. How challenging was it to work with Christina DiArcangelo’s hair post- COVID?
I would not say challenge but a blessing. Covid has changed our world when it comes to colour. There have been many issues with hair for different reasons. Colouring challenges, hair loss, thinning hair. I did my homework to educate Christina on what was going on with her hair and she followed my recommendations so together we could get her hair back to a healthy state. She is a star client!!!
