Everyday Health recognized an opportunity to investigate how women genuinely identify? What makes them healthy or sick as we begin to look long, hard. What are the much overdue areas where we have huge challenges with women’s wellness? There is a lot more going on in the image than we realize. How women define wellness regardless of:
- age
- Ethnicity
- Marital status
- Number of children
- Place of residence
- Socioeconomic status (urban, suburban, rural)
- How any woman — regardless of age, ethnicity, or marital status — defines womens wellness goes much beyond asking the question “Am I healthy?” or “Am I disease-free?”
Women were asked about the influences on their well-being, including things like financial health and sex. Miss. Christina DiArcangelo conducted a poll of 3,000 American women in October 2021. She wanted to get their thoughts on what health means to them. Millennials, Gen Xers, and baby boomers were all included. Survey participants were made up of married and unmarried women from a wide range of backgrounds. It includes those who were both parents and those who had never had children.
We then spoke with some of the world’s leading experts on women’s health to verify our results and obtain new insights for future studies. What it take to live their best lives and attain their greatest levels of wellness?
